About the Role
This position serves as an onsite subject matter expert in building engineering, overseeing and conducting maintenance and repair in specific, regulated American Red Cross buildings. Under minimal guidance, you will advise on the planning for building systems, electricity, equipment repair, and general maintenance. Your role requires maintaining a basic knowledge of structural systems, control systems, and code issues, while recognizing problematic mechanical devices.
You will perform specialized service work in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and carpentry systems, conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and other machinery. A key part of your day involves ensuring all regulatory operations meet minimum compliance standards, enforcing organization safety policies, and managing facility safety and fire extinguisher inspections. You will also oversee the facility maintenance work-order system, coordinate emergency requests, and manage security access and surveillance systems.
