Budget Analyst

About the Role

Synertex LLC is seeking Budget Analysts to support Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces (HQ PACAF) by providing critical services for all PACAF/A37 managed service-funded exercises. This role is essential for ensuring operational readiness and financial accuracy within the USINDOPACOM area of operations.

As an on-site position based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii, you will serve as a key liaison between the Air Force, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and other federal agencies. Your work will directly influence the execution and future planning of major exercises and defense funding initiatives.

The Day-to-Day

You will manage the full lifecycle of budget formulation and execution for PACAF exercises. This involves reviewing historical data to forecast annual funding needs, preparing budget estimates in strict compliance with Joint Staff and Air Force regulations, and monitoring actual expenditures against obligations. You will utilize automated budgetary systems and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) tools to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.

Beyond data analysis, you will provide strategic advice on budgeting, conduct economic impact studies, and attend planning conferences to support exercise execution. A significant part of your role involves ensuring all funding documents, allotment requests, and Program Order Memorandum inputs comply with Office of Management and Budget directives and Department of Defense policies.

Requirements & Culture

To succeed in this role, you must possess an active Secret Clearance. The position requires effective interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders, including Embassies and other agencies, and the ability to travel at least three times annually.
