The Board is responsible for regulating the practices of audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreational therapy, and speech-language pathology, along with their respective assistants and clinical fellows. Composed of 11 members, the Board ensures a balanced representation of professionals and the public, including members from all eight wards of the District of Columbia.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council for a three-year term. The Board meets monthly, with subcommittees convening as needed to complete specific tasks. The role requires a commitment to overseeing professional standards and protecting public interest within the regulated health occupations.
Interested candidates should complete the official appointment application and attach all required documentation. Applications are screened on a rolling basis as they are received.
