Under the direction of the Department Manager, the B&O Saw Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. This role acts in a manner consistent with Gordon Aluminum's Customer 1st Philosophy.
The general purpose of the position is to control and operate metal saws and applicable processes using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity. The operator works within a fast-paced environment where adherence to run schedules and precise material handling are critical to maintaining production flow.
This position is performed on the production floor, where employees are frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is typically loud, requiring the consistent use of hearing protection. Operators are expected to wear all required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, while adhering to all general safety policies.
