About the Role
The Biochemist I serves as a vital independent contributor within our San Diego laboratory, focusing specifically on the critical processes of conjugation. This role is designed for an early-career professional who is eager to master complex laboratory techniques while directly supporting daily operations under the guidance of an immediate supervisor.
In this 12-month contract position, you will be the driving force behind single and multiple-step conjugations, ensuring high quality and yield in a timely manner. The position requires a balance of technical precision and collaborative spirit; you will work closely with the team to maintain productivity standards while solving direct problem-solving tasks. Your day-to-day involves executing various conjugation formats with a deep understanding of the underlying chemistry, theories, and techniques.
Beyond technical execution, you will play an active role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This includes participating in Environmental Health & Safety programs, reviewing batch records to minimize business impact, and proactively identifying and addressing safety hazards. You will also contribute to the operational backbone of the lab by assisting with supply orders, reagent preparations, and equipment maintenance.
