Starting in August 2026, the Bilingual Liaison (Spanish Speaking) serves as a vital bridge between students, families, schools, and the broader community. Based primarily at Oak Valley and Fullerton Elementary Schools, this role supports a caseload that extends to multiple schools within the district. The position is designed to ensure a high-quality learning experience that prepares students for the workplace and continued education.
As a key member of the student and community services team, you will facilitate communication between English-speaking staff and Spanish-speaking families. Your day involves translating critical school communications, assisting with parent-teacher interactions, and helping families navigate community resources. You will work closely with principals, teachers, and counselors to support the academic achievement of English Learners and foster a welcoming environment for all families.
This is a full-time, non-exempt classified position operating on a 202-day school year schedule (August through May). While the primary location is assigned by OPS Administration, the role requires flexibility to support various schools and may occasionally involve evening or weekend work for parent involvement activities. Reliable transportation is essential, as the role includes making home visits and traveling within the local community.
Candidates selected for this position must successfully complete a background check to ensure they are suitable for working with students. Verification of U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Additionally, a tuberculosis skin test may be required depending on federal regulations for the position.
