The Benefits Specialist is a vital member of the university's human resources team, reporting directly to the Benefits Manager. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees navigating the university's comprehensive fringe benefits program. The role exists to ensure the seamless administration, communication, and delivery of services ranging from wellness initiatives and retirement planning to onboarding, offboarding, and employee recognition.
While team members may develop primary areas of focus, all Benefits Specialists are expected to be cross-trained to support the full scope of benefits operations. This approach ensures continuity, operational efficiency, and high levels of employee satisfaction across the organization. The specialist acts as a bridge between the university, benefit vendors, and the employee population, managing everything from daily inquiries and notary services to complex compliance audits and payroll coordination.

Strong familiarity with Ellucian Banner HRIS/ERP systems. Working knowledge of relevant benefits laws and regulations. Proven experience delivering excellent customer service.
