The role begins with an on-site training period in Pittsburgh before transitioning to a remote setup. While the position is primarily remote, candidates must reside within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, PA (15222) to ensure compliance with local regulations and operational needs. The position offers a contract assignment with the potential for permanent hire based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
Day in the Life
As a Benefits Customer Service Representative, you will manage a high volume of interactions via phone, email, and instant message. Your day will involve responding to speaking customers with accuracy and timeliness, customizing your communication style to meet various member personalities while maintaining professionalism during difficult calls. You will handle confidential information with strict adherence to HIPAA and data privacy laws, ensuring all call and case notes are documented accurately in English.
The schedule requires availability Monday through Friday, with shifts varying between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM. While the core commitment is 32 to 40 hours per week during training, occasional overtime may be required, potentially extending as late as 11:00 PM. A dedicated, distraction-free workspace with a high-speed, hardwired internet connection is essential for success in this remote capacity.
