For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens. We currently offer 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness.
Caring Communities provides essential housing and mental health services to individuals with a documented history of homelessness, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness. Our mission is to ensure the rights, safety, and approved care of all residents by implementing best practices and fostering a supportive environment.
The Benefit Counselor serves as a vital liaison between our residents and external entitlement agencies, including the Social Security Administration and the New York City Human Resources Administration. Under the direction of the Director, this role ensures residents receive proper benefits and entitlements while maintaining a professional and ethical disposition at all times. You will act as a resource for the Clinical Director and Administrative Office, assisting with crisis intervention and collaborating with program management to identify new referral sources.
