The Behavioral Health Technician is an integral part of the Clinical team at our facility in Gautier, MS, dedicated to supporting the recovery journey of individuals facing chemical dependency. This mid-day and day shift position serves as a vital link between patients and clinical staff, ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
In this role, you will interact with patients daily in accordance with established treatment policies. Your day involves facilitating patient orientation, monitoring and leading Book Studies and Recovery meetings, and ensuring adherence to the Bradford Program Schedule. You will be responsible for circulating the facility to document hourly checks, overseeing medication lines to prevent diversion, and assisting patients with mobility, meals, and appointments. The role requires a high level of alertness to de-escalate situations, manage community dynamics, and redirect behavior while maintaining a professional and supportive demeanor.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record, as the role includes driving patients to appointments and outings, as well as purchasing necessary sundries. The position requires physical stamina to walk approximately one mile per shift and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Certification in CPR is mandatory.
