Are you a compassionate Clinical Psychologist looking to transform lives? Join our dedicated team at the Graceville Correctional Facility in Graceville, FL, and provide expert mental health care to those who need it most.
In this position, you will report administratively to the health services administrator while receiving clinical oversight from a psychiatrist. You will supervise mental health professionals and be responsible for planning and implementing all professional psychological service programs of a non-medical nature within the facility. Your role involves coordinating and directing the activities of personnel engaged in providing psychological services to inmates, ensuring full compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, MTC Medical directives, and Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) guidelines.
You will support and assist the health services team at all levels in delivering quality patient services and developing facility goals and policies related to quality assurance and mental health services. A deep familiarity with all aspects of facility operations will allow you to assist in other areas as needed.
Your daily responsibilities include promoting patient advocacy and maintaining ethical practice standards. You will develop and implement quality assurance indicators based on incident reports, grievances, contract requirements, and clinical practice guidelines. Active participation in the quality improvement committee will be essential, as you monitor the delivery of mental health care, audit patient records, and analyze monthly statistical reports to discuss findings with the team.
You will closely monitor potential catastrophic events, perform utilization reviews, and track outcomes. When services fall below required compliance thresholds, you will develop and monitor corrective action plans. Additionally, you will recommend methods to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health-related services, utilizing modern statistical methods and problem-solving techniques.
Effective communication is key; you will interact with administration, staff, inmates, and outside agencies and providers, requiring tact, diplomacy, fairness, firmness, and good judgment in all clinical and operational discussions.
