Since 1958, United Counseling Service (UCS) has been dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals and families in our community. As a proud affiliate of Vermont Care Partners, a statewide network of 16 non-profit community-based agencies, we deliver comprehensive mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental services across Vermont. Under the direction of the Mental Health and Disabilities Coordinator, the Behavioral Interventionist provides behavioral support, intervention, and case management to clients. This role is designed to facilitate positive adjustment to classroom expectations and strengthen the connection between home, school, and the community.
In this position, you will work directly with students who have emotional and/or behavioral difficulties, teaching appropriate social skills and coping strategies. You will serve as a vital liaison between the school, home, and other community supports, acting as an information conduit to teach social skills related to various community settings. Your day will involve collaborating with educational teams to design and oversee behavior interventions, consulting with school personnel and parents, and providing direct instruction in social skills and self-regulation.
