Self Regional Healthcare is a non-profit, physician-led hospital and the region's largest employer. Supported by a large private endowment ensuring financial solvency, we provide care to approximately 300,000 residents across seven counties. Our medical practice division, Self Medical Group, employs over 150 physicians, including primary care specialists and hospital-based providers.
We are a small-town community that offers the luxury of academic resources. Our team values family and maintains a collaborative, team-oriented culture. We share OB volume, including many high-risk patients, and encourage VBACs with in-house anesthesia support.
About the Role
Self Regional is seeking a full-time nocturnist OBGYN Hospitalist to join our service line. This role covers an average of 3–14 hour shifts per week (5 PM – 7 AM), with backup call provided by two hospital-employed groups.
The hospital boasts an excellent Level III NICU and has recently onboarded a local Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist for consults. We scrub all major GYN surgeries together and have robotic surgery available. The hospital is currently working toward providing all weekday night and weekend coverage for generalist groups within six months.
A typical work week involves one call day, a post-call day off (if primary overnight coverage), and 2.5–3 total office days. We offer a competitive base salary with quarterly production incentive bonuses, as well as excellent recruitment incentives including a signing bonus, student loan assistance, moving allowance, and CME support. For current OBGYN residents, a monthly stipend is offered until the start date.
About the Location
Greenwood, South Carolina, is a picturesque town situated in the foothills and on the shores of Lake Greenwood. Known as "the Emerald City" and "the Lakelands," it features a desirable climate and numerous lakes. The location offers year-round golf, seasonal watersports, and excellent hunting and fishing. It is a three-hour drive to Charleston's beaches, two hours to the Appalachian Mountains, and an equivalent distance to both Atlanta and Charlotte.
