About the Role

The Barge Washer position is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and environmental compliance of our vessel fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of barge cleaning, from the safe setup and operation of specialized washing equipment to the final disassembly and inspection. Your work ensures that barges are stripped, cleaned with high-pressure water blasts, and prepared for subsequent activities such as painting.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your day will involve utilizing hand tools, including pressure washers and brushes, to effectively clean barges. You will attach hosepipes to barges and coordinate with crane operations to ensure proper setup. Beyond cleaning, the role requires maintaining a clean and safe working environment that strictly complies with environmental guidelines and policies. You will also perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing machine oil and filters, while adhering to all safety rules and utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Safety and regulatory adherence are paramount in this position. You will be expected to stay compliant with all regulatory bodies applicable to the work being completed. This includes following strict safety protocols and maintaining a workspace that meets environmental standards.
