AVP, Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for building and enhancing on‑premises data warehouse solutions while accelerating our migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift. You will be an integral part of an exciting, fast-paced, and constantly changing work environment, playing a pivotal role in shaping technology solutions at Synchrony.

In this position, you will partner with information architects, platform architects, data scientists, and product management to design robust solutions. You will lead a technical team to ensure data solutions meet business goals, manage relationships with mid-level business partners, and collaborate closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters within a Scaled Agile framework. Your work will involve resolving complex problems by evaluating business and system processes, promoting automation to avoid redundancy, and staying current with the latest trends in data engineering.

Our Way of Working

At Synchrony, we are proud to offer flexibility. Our way of working allows you the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training, and culture events.
