Auto Technician

As an Auto Technician at CarMax, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our high standards of vehicle safety and customer satisfaction are met. You will work with top-of-the-line technology in well-equipped facilities to service, diagnose, and repair vehicles while consistently providing a superior customer experience.

In this role, you will perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards. You will diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning, to specification. Additionally, you will provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs and inspect and test new vehicles for necessary adjustments.

A key part of your day involves explaining mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers. You will continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
