About the Opportunity
This vacancy is part of the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative designed to expedite the hiring process for qualified candidates across the state. The position is located within the Department of Taxation in Downtown Honolulu.
Auditors in this role are responsible for examining accounts to render opinions on the financial position and operations of governmental agencies, individuals, and business entities. The work requires the application of sound accounting judgment and adherence to generally accepted auditing standards and principles. Level III auditors conduct examinations of smaller agencies or specific fiscal aspects, while Level IV auditors independently perform complex field audits of governmental books, public utilities, and transportation firms, potentially supervising lower-level staff on less complex cases.
