About the Organization
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is a statewide non-profit and New Hampshire's only Center for Independent Living. We stay close to our roots with a focus on five core services: education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. About the Role
As an Attendant Care Employee (ACE), you will make a meaningful impact by providing compassionate support to our consumers and promoting their independence. This role is designed to help individuals live life on their own terms by assisting with daily activities and community engagement.
You will work directly with consumers in their homes and the community, supporting them with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Your day may involve assisting with ambulation and transfers, performing range of motion exercises, and helping with household tasks like meal preparation, laundry, and organization. You may also provide medication reminders and assist with running errands. If necessary, you will be trained to use mechanical lifting devices.
This is a Per Diem position with flexible schedules ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week, set directly by the consumers you support. We are currently seeking candidates in Durham, Portsmouth, and Somersworth, NH.
Hiring Process
To apply, candidates must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background check. While a high school diploma and LNA license are not required, applicants must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more and possess adequate car insurance if applicable.
