The Associate Restaurant Manager (ARM) serves as the primary assistant to the Restaurant General Manager, providing critical management coverage during operating hours and direct supervision of daily operations. This position is designed for a high-potential leader who will assume full responsibility for financial controls, crew training, and employee screening under the direction of the RGM.
The ARM is expected to perform hands-on operational duties while simultaneously training employees, responding to customer needs, and modeling appropriate skills and behaviors. This role is a direct pipeline for growth; candidates are selected based on their demonstrated leadership potential to be promoted to Restaurant General Manager within 18 months. Progress is tracked through an Individual Development Plan, with demotion or termination possible if growth targets are not met within the first year.
Your day is a dynamic blend of strategic oversight and hands-on execution. You will drive excellence in customer service by resolving issues, analyzing complaints, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Financially, you will analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to meet margin targets, develop the annual operating plan, and manage vendor relationships.
Operationally, you will monitor food preparation, order fulfillment, and facility maintenance to ensure adherence to company standards. You will also establish speed-of-service targets, resolve bottlenecks, and manage weekly schedules. On the people side, you will direct all HR activities, from hiring and performance management to compensation and employee relations, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment across all shifts.
