About the Role
As a Hardware Engineer I (Tier 2 Deskside Support), you will serve as the frontline technical partner for NSIR end users located in Rockville, MD, and Bluemont, VA. This role is critical for maintaining high-availability environments through on-site, 24x7 operational support. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of desktop and laptop devices, including the non-disruptive deployment of Windows 10 and 11 hardware, asset management, procurement, and disposal.
Your day will involve diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, coordinating with Tier 3 teams for complex upgrades, and ensuring systems are prepared for major threat responses or exercises. You will also support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) exercises, providing on-site IT assistance to keep production environments running smoothly. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills to troubleshoot patch issues and vulnerabilities, as well as the ability to work effectively under tight schedules while documenting resolutions in ServiceNow.

To be considered for this contract position, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents. A key prerequisite is the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to starting; please note that the clearance process may take anywhere between 1 to 4 months from submission to the customer's security organization.
