About the Role
This position serves as a Civil Associate Engineering Technician within the Virtual Design & Data Solutions team, specifically supporting underground transmission line projects. The role is designed to bridge technical execution with client needs, ensuring high-quality deliverables for our engineering teams.
You will be responsible for developing plan and profile deliverables using industry-standard software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation. This is an onsite role based in Overland Park, KS, requiring a 5-day work week. We are seeking local candidates who are ready to contribute to a dynamic environment where precision and continuous improvement are paramount.
Day in the Life
In this role, you will operate under general supervision to perform technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles. Your daily work involves creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. You will utilize digital tools and design software to generate accurate plan and profile outputs, ensuring that alignments, sections, and dimensional checks meet project specifications.
Collaboration is key to your success. You will coordinate closely with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences, while balancing the needs of internal clients with a growing understanding of external client priorities. As you progress, you will also begin to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and process evolution.
