About the Role
This position is designed to learn the operations of all departments and share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation and human resources. You will perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration, and HR-related duties while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
In this role, you will assist the store manager and associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience, developing associate interest in customer service to enhance Kroger's best-in-class reputation. You will help lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives, and work with department heads to identify opportunities and create action plans for implementation.
You will serve as a role model for the highest level of customer service, solving associate and customer issues while managing total store operations in the store manager's absence. Your day-to-day will involve driving sales by collaborating with department managers to maximize profits, reducing shrink, and improving each store department's contribution. Additionally, you will assist in building proactive relationships with local community organizations and, if applicable, union representatives.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma/GED
- verified1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
- verifiedStore manager/district manager or direct manager approval
Nice to Have
Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations. Staff supervisory experience.
