About the Role
Oakwell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support active construction projects in healthcare and institutional campus facilities in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is central to our Transparent Project Delivery model, serving as a bridge between strategic oversight and on-the-ground execution.
You will partner closely with a Senior Project Manager to lead day-to-day project operations, managing cost, schedule, safety, and quality on complex builds. Unlike traditional support roles, this position requires active involvement in field operations while maintaining rigorous project controls. You will be expected to experiment with AI and machine-learning tools to accelerate workflows, identify risks earlier, and enhance decision-making across all project dimensions.
Your Day-to-Day
Your work will span the entire project lifecycle, from Validation and Active Construction through Commissioning and Turnover. You will coordinate Change Order Requests, track open-book costs, and manage recovery planning for schedules. A significant portion of your time will be spent supporting field teams, superintendents, and trade partners to ensure first-time quality and safety compliance. You will also maintain critical project management information systems (PMIS), handling RFIs, submittals, procurement, and risk logs to keep the project moving forward efficiently.
