About the Role
The Assistant Manager position is designed as a development pathway to a successful long-term career in restaurant management. This role serves as a deliberate stepping stone for individuals who are already highly competent at running shifts, preparing them for the additional management responsibilities of running the entire store as a Restaurant Manager.
In this role, you will assist the Restaurant Manager in the planning, direction, and control of store operations. You will supervise employees regarding inventory, merchandising, losses, and work hours, while supporting product ordering and sales plans to maximize potential. You will be introduced to the basics of P&L management and may attend Restaurant Manager meetings alongside the Store Manager. Additionally, you will be encouraged to refine recruiting, hiring, and performance management skills, acquiring the requisite knowledge to ensure the store's compliance with State and Federal laws.
While assigned to specific shifts, you will be responsible for managing the processes and people needed to deliver a great and friendly guest experience. You will oversee product preparation according to operational and quality standards and manage the service provided by the store team. Your leadership will involve providing direction and coaching to Crew Members, assigning positions, setting shift expectations, motivating the team, and providing timely feedback to correct deficiencies or reward success.
