The Assistant Store Manager serves as a vital partner to the Store Manager, supporting all aspects of retail operations including sales, customer service, human resources, training, visual merchandising, and loss prevention. This role is designed to ensure the daily activity of the sales floor, backroom, and cash register area runs smoothly according to company policy.
In this position, you will act as a bridge between the store team and leadership. You will assist in finding new employees, managing staff schedules, and controlling payroll budgets while ensuring the highest level of customer service is delivered to every shopper. The role requires a keen eye for detail, from reconciling cash drawers and managing deposits to conducting inventory spot checks and maintaining clean, current displays that adhere to company guidelines.
As a key member of the Retail department, you will work closely with the Store Manager to drive store performance. You are expected to stay constantly aware of loss prevention protocols, understand progressive discipline procedures, and fairly follow corrective action processes. By sharing ideas received from staff and customers with the Store Manager, you help shape a responsive and efficient store environment.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of store management experience in a retail environment. Strong managerial, selling, and communication skills are essential, along with excellent product knowledge and familiarity with POS systems.
