We provide a wide range of inclusive services, from job placement and youth development programs to community outreach. UAU is responsive to the needs of diverse populations, implementing programs that support positive outcomes for individuals and families. As a pillar of support for our communities, we strive to create a better future through engagement, education, and holistic services.

About the Role

The Assistant Director of School-Based Programs serves as a mission-driven leader within the SONYC department, overseeing daily operations, program quality, and compliance for multiple Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) after-school program sites. This role is critical in ensuring that all sites provide safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programming for grades K-8, aligned with DYCD standards, Department of Health (DOH) School-Age Child Care (SACC) regulations, and organizational goals.

You will act as a bridge between the Program Director and frontline staff, maintaining strong relationships with schools, families, and community stakeholders. The day-to-day involves traveling to multiple worksite locations to monitor operations, support staff recruitment and retention, and coordinate personnel training. Hiring Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the United Activities Unlimited recruitment team. The process typically includes an initial screening to verify qualifications and experience, followed by interviews with the Director of School-Based Programs and the Director of Operations. Final candidates may be asked to provide references and undergo background checks consistent with our commitment to child safety.
