The Assistant Director of School-Based Programs serves as a mission-driven leader within the SONYC department, overseeing daily operations, program quality, and compliance for multiple Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) after-school program sites. This role is critical in ensuring that all sites provide safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programming for grades K-8, aligned with DYCD standards, Department of Health (DOH) School-Age Child Care (SACC) regulations, and organizational goals.
You will act as a bridge between the Program Director and frontline staff, maintaining strong relationships with schools, families, and community stakeholders. The day-to-day involves traveling to multiple worksite locations to monitor operations, support staff recruitment and retention, and coordinate personnel training. This position requires an organized leader who can ensure high-quality service delivery and operational excellence while fostering a positive, culturally responsive, and youth-centered work environment.
