About the Role

As an Interventionist, you will provide highly specialized and intensive instructional, behavioral, and personal support services to designated students across a variety of settings. This role exists to bridge the gap between academic standards and individual student needs, ensuring full participation in the classroom environment.

In this position, you will use advanced training and acquired skills to deliver programming tailored to assigned students' challenges. Your day will involve collecting data to assess student needs and progress, contributing to the development and modification of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and collaborating with psychologists, behavior analysts, therapists, and teachers to implement specialized programs. You will work to determine appropriate sequences of events leading towards increased independence and greater inclusion for students in classrooms, playgrounds, community forums, and educational trips.

Knowledge of learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorders, communication impairments. Knowledge of special education teaching methods, theories and laws. Good understanding of standard classroom operations and teaching methods. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form and demonstrated active listening and advocacy skills. Ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively. Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products, internet and email systems, and mastery of the subject matter being taught. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability, and delivering exceptional customer service.
