The Assistant Chief Engineer serves as a pivotal leader within Avion Hospitality, dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and repair of all hotel equipment. This role is essential to supporting the organization's core goals of guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability. The Assistant Chief Engineer oversees the Preventative Maintenance program, guaranteeing that all guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet Avion Hospitality standards.
As a management-level associate, this position requires a flexible approach to the workday, with hours adjusted as necessary to complete critical responsibilities. The role involves a blend of administrative, executive, and professional tasks, requiring the use of discretion and independent judgment to navigate complex operational challenges. The Assistant Chief Engineer acts as the primary point of contact for emergency situations, coordinates safety committees, and fosters a culture of safety and efficiency across the property.
Working within the Engineering Department, the Assistant Chief Engineer trains and supervises hourly staff, coordinating schedules and performance appraisals. The role demands close collaboration with other departments, including Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Kitchen, to establish ongoing training on basic upkeep and equipment maintenance. By managing energy expenses, coordinating fire safety inspections, and maintaining key control systems, the Assistant Chief Engineer ensures the hotel operates as a cohesive unit focused on high standards of service and safety.
