About the Role

As an Assistant Business Office Manager, you will be the backbone of our facility's financial and administrative operations. This role exists to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strict compliance across all billing and accounting functions. You will work collaboratively in a dynamic environment, supporting the team in managing resident trust funds, processing complex insurance claims (including Medicare and Managed Care), and handling daily cash deposits.

Your day will involve a blend of precise financial documentation, professional communication with residents and families, and active participation in interdisciplinary meetings to review admissions and payer changes. You will also play a key role in training team members to ensure robust backup coverage for critical office functions. Success in this position requires a genuine care for the elderly and disabled, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleSupport accounts receivable management by maintaining documentation and following up on past-due receivables
  • check_circleProcess Medicare, MSP, managed care, and primary insurance claims ensuring timely submissions
  • check_circleMaintain resident trust fund accounts in compliance with financial regulations
  • check_circleComplete Medicare and HMO claims by the 5th of each month and bill hospice companies promptly
  • check_circleCommunicate professionally with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders
  • check_circleTrain team members to meet the 3 Deep backup requirement for office functions
  • check_circleParticipate in interdisciplinary meetings to review admissions, discharges, and payer changes
  • check_circleManage mail distribution and update census and payer changes in PCC
  • check_circleSupport financial verification and complete required paperwork for new admissions
