As a Secondary Art Instructor at USD 259, you will serve as a creative guide for high school students, helping them generate, conceptualize, and develop artistic ideas. Your mission is to foster an environment where students actively learn, create, and connect art to the broader experiences of life. You will analyze and interpret artistic work, refine techniques, and help students relate their creations to societal, cultural, and historical contexts.
In this role, you will design and implement a curriculum aligned with local, district, and state standards, utilizing a wide range of media including drawing, painting, digital imaging, and sculpture. Beyond the studio, you will collaborate with colleagues, families, and community groups to enrich the art program and advocate for the importance of visual arts in education.
You will work under the direct supervision of the School Principal within a diverse school community. Success in this position requires the ability to interact with students, parents, and colleagues with tact, diplomacy, and a positive attitude.
