About the Role
Paragon Professional Services is seeking Transportation Officers to support Armed Ground Transportation Services for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New Jersey. In this full-time capacity, you will serve as a critical link in the secure movement of detainees, ensuring safety and compliance with PBNDS Standards and Training protocols.
This is a 24/7 contract role requiring rotating shifts. You will operate within a transportation vehicle, responsible for the safety and security of all detainees during transit. The position involves daily exposure to individuals with unknown medical histories, necessitating a constant state of mental alertness and adherence to strict safety and security procedures.
Hiring Process & Onboarding
Applicants will be contacted via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submission. The onboarding and contract-required training process typically takes between 4 to 8 weeks to complete. As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check. Successful candidates will also be required to obtain and maintain appropriate federal clearance levels and access to military installations if applicable to the contract.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform transportation duties in accordance with PBNDS Standards and Training
- check_circleDocument all detainee transports and ensure safety of records and possessions
- check_circleMaintain organized vehicle maintenance and service records in designated binders
- check_circleReport safety-related issues and complete vehicle repair orders for Fleet Management
- check_circleSubmit gas receipts and complete daily paperwork including Record of Presence sheets
- check_circleReport accidents, incidents, or injuries and complete required incident reports
- check_circleAdhere to Post Orders and hospital protocols when stationed at guard posts
- check_circleConduct pre-trip and post-vehicle inspections on assigned vehicles
- check_circleCarry required identification, weapons permits, and medical cards at all times
- check_circleParticipate in quarterly training covering Use of Force, Tactics, and Weapon Safety

Nice to Have
Possession of a valid New Jersey Permit to Carry, a valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Card, a valid Driver's License or valid Commercial Driver's License for the state of residence, a USDOT Medical Card (for CDL license holders only), a current federal background investigation and access or ability to obtain (e-Qip), and an active Federal government security clearance.
