The Area Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in directing and coordinating branch activities to ensure the optimum use of equipment, warehouse processes, and personnel. This position is designed for a leader who possesses or quickly acquires deep knowledge of warehouse operations, dispatch and transportation logistics, counter sales processes, and product specifics. Typically overseeing locations with annual revenues exceeding $30 million, the role focuses on driving operational excellence through data-driven strategies and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will serve as the bridge between strategic goals and daily execution. You will facilitate regular operations meetings, resolve complex operating difficulties, and work closely with sales management to ensure seamless communication and training. A key part of your day involves reviewing production reports, department expenses, and labor costs to maintain budget compliance. You will also engage directly with customers to resolve problems and ensure satisfactory outcomes, while leading a team of 12+ associates by setting goals, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
