This Senior Archeologist position is physically located in the Marshall Islands, providing critical support to the LOGCAP program on Kwajalein Atoll. The role serves as the primary steward for implementing a compliant Archaeological program under the TO Kwajalein USA-KA Environmental Standards (UES) and Historical and Cultural Resource protocols.
You will oversee the full lifecycle of cultural resource management, from the collection and interpretation of field data to laboratory processing and analysis. Beyond technical execution, this senior position is responsible for identifying necessary resources, managing budgets for equipment and training, and ensuring all regulatory reporting requirements are met. You will work closely with managers, supervisors, and officials to proactively eliminate or control any archaeological non-compliance conditions, ensuring the protection of national resources under the Document of Environmental Protection.
The role requires a blend of field oversight and strategic planning. You will develop and implement Cultural Resource Evaluation and Archaeological Monitoring Plans in accordance with AR 200-1 and UES-specific directives. A key component of the position involves maintaining the Historic Preservation Plan and preparing the Annual Cultural Resources Report (RMI-L-32) for review by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and approval by the Program Control Officer (PCO). This includes managing curation and repatriation services and assessing historical structures.
As a leader, you will provide functional guidance and mentorship to archeology staff, ensuring consistent operational performance and adherence to ESH Best Practices. The position involves professional communication with various stakeholders, including staff meetings and performance appraisals. You will also travel to job sites up to 25% annually to provide onsite oversight coverage when local staff are on leave.

The work is classified as "Medium," requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly, along with activities such as heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, and prolonged standing or sitting.
