About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the organization's financial integrity by assisting the Accounts Receivable Supervisor in the receipt and accounting of funds. This position is classified by the PUC as containing Security Sensitive Functions, requiring a high degree of trust and adherence to protocol.
The role serves as the operational backbone for the billing and collections lifecycle. From the initial setup of client files to the final verification of payments, the Specialist ensures that all financial documentation is accurate, timely, and properly filed. This includes managing pre-lien filings for new projects, coordinating billing meetings, and maintaining strict adherence to retention and progress billing schedules.
A key aspect of the day-to-day workflow involves close collaboration with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. This includes monthly reviews to address departmental issues, ensuring that all change orders are captured for billing, and verifying that payment receipts are recorded within 12 hours of arrival. The Specialist also acts as a liaison for waiver requests and statement distributions, ensuring that all client interactions are handled professionally and efficiently.
