About the Role
This is a systems-level engineering position supporting advanced controller hardware integration across multiple vehicle programs at Stellantis. The Assistant Chief Engineer serves as a critical technical interface between Chief Engineering, the Product Release Center, and cross-functional teams including software, controls, and validation.
Ideal for a mid-level engineer with strong automotive systems experience, this role is designed for those who enjoy solving complex integration challenges and driving technical program execution. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring controller hardware systems perform reliably across engine, transmission, and electrified vehicle platforms. The position offers a high-impact environment with visibility across engineering functions and exposure to cross-domain integration involving hardware, software, controls, and validation.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAct as controller hardware system owner at the application and integration level
- check_circleSupport multiple controller types including ECM, EVCU, and TCM/DTCM
- check_circleServe as key interface between DREs, COEs, software teams, suppliers, and validation
- check_circleLead and support system-level issue resolution including CQI and GIMS activities
- check_circleCoordinate electrical and communication integration across modules
- check_circleReview DRE design proposals and support DFMEA and DRBFM activities
- check_circleSupport validation activities and track follow-up actions
- check_circleContribute to cost and timing inputs for new programs and engineering changes
- check_circleSupport cost reduction and value optimization initiatives
- check_circleMaintain lessons learned documentation and ensure alignment with technical standards
- check_circleTrack cross-functional action plans and ensure milestone completion
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- verified5–10 years of automotive engineering experience
- verifiedPrior DRE experience required
- verifiedExperience with control modules or controller hardware systems
- verifiedKnowledge of electromechanical systems, sensors, and actuators
- verifiedExperience with CAN communication protocols and EE architecture
- verifiedFamiliarity with DFMEA, validation processes, and automotive development workflows
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics (with relevant experience). Exposure to software calibration or controls integration. Systems engineering or technical project leadership experience.
