About the Role
This position responds to the anesthetic needs of patients and coordinates their care with other perioperative personnel during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists, you will administer anesthesia services for medical and surgical procedures relevant to the facility. The role also involves responding to emergent airway management needs as required.
You will formulate anesthetic plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists, discussing risks, benefits, and options with patients before preparing for administration. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing special line placement procedures, documenting comprehensive patient data on pre-anesthesia and intraoperative records, and maintaining age-specific technical competence in skills such as airway management, induction, blocks, and general anesthesia.
A key part of your mission is providing a safe practice environment by utilizing a systematic approach to minimize risks of infection, physical injury, psychological stress, and equipment failure. You will also stay current with anesthesia pharmacology, modalities, techniques, and technology, while performing point-of-care testing as required by regulatory standards.
Location and Schedule
This role is based at the Greer Medical Campus (2273 Greenville Anesthesiology) within the Practice Operations department. The position features a variable work shift and may require on-call availability, either in-house or from home, as dictated by facility needs.
