This position serves as an Adjunct Instructor, focusing primarily on delivering instruction and maintaining a productive classroom environment. The role is designed to support student success through direct engagement, academic guidance, and strict adherence to institutional standards.
In this capacity, you will be the primary point of contact for students during class hours. Your day involves conducting sessions according to the scheduled times, ensuring the classroom remains clean and orderly, and providing availability for student questions and advising 15 minutes prior to the start of each session. Beyond the lecture hall, the role requires active student retention efforts, including making phone calls to absent students and motivating those facing academic challenges.
You will work closely with the Academic Affairs team, attending weekly feedback meetings with your assigned EU administrator (such as the Dean of Academic Affairs, Academic Advisor, or Program Director) to review student progress and classroom issues. Maintaining accurate records is a core component of this position; you will be responsible for daily attendance tracking, weekly grade updates, and ensuring all physical student records remain securely on campus.
The role demands a high level of professionalism and compliance. You must ensure students adhere to University policies, prevent unauthorized admissions, and submit grades by the strict deadline of Monday at 5 PM EST following each term. Additionally, you are expected to maintain current knowledge of your subject matter, complete annual professional development plans, and abide by all relevant State, Federal, and University laws regarding safety, health, and conduct.
