This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as a versatile Medical Laboratory Scientist within a community hospital setting, specifically covering the Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics patient populations. The role is designed for a generalist who thrives in a dynamic environment, rotating between Hematology, Chemistry, and Blood Banking departments.
You will be the backbone of the laboratory's daily operations, managing a diverse array of tests ranging from routine CBCs and urinalysis to complex antibody screenings and therapeutic drug monitoring. The position requires a high level of technical proficiency with laboratory instruments, particularly Beckman chemistry automation and Sysmex analyzers. As a generalist, you will handle everything from tube method procedures to automated processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the board.
Our facility values interdisciplinary support and maintains a high standard of quality assurance. The team operates with a focus on patient safety, adhering strictly to transmission-based precautions, hazardous material handling, and proper specimen storage and labeling protocols. We are looking for professionals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced community hospital environment where adaptability and technical skill are paramount.
This is a Mid Shift position (15:00 - 23:30) with a 5x8-hour schedule. A key component of this contract is the requirement for weekend coverage, which occurs every other weekend. The unit operates with a daily census of approximately 120 patients, requiring a dedicated and focused approach to maintain high-quality care standards.
Candidates must hold a valid ASCP-MLS or ASCP-MLT certification. We welcome applicants with commercial or reference laboratory experience, though community hospital experience is required. Please note that this unit does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel experience is mandatory.
