The Maintenance Mechanic is the backbone of safe and efficient airport operations, responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of airport vehicles, equipment, and facilities. This role is critical for ensuring that the airport's infrastructure remains operational under all conditions. The day-to-day involves a blend of preventive maintenance, emergency response, and general facility upkeep. You will work with gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles, snow removal equipment, and heavy machinery, ensuring everything meets FAA ARFF Index requirements and safety standards.
This position requires adaptability and readiness. You will support the airport during inclement weather, special operational needs, and emergencies, often working varying schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays. Effective communication via two-way radio and the ability to work independently in a complex operational environment are essential to keeping the airport running smoothly.
