Established in 1969, the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is a premier institution dedicated to advancing the field of aviation maintenance through exceptional education and training. As the largest aviation maintenance training school in the U.S., AIM is a cornerstone of the industry, accounting for 20% of all students attending FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) schools nationwide. Each year, the institute proudly contributes to the graduation of nearly one in four certified aircraft technicians in America.
At AIM, you will become part of a dynamic team of educators and leaders united by a shared commitment to delivering top-notch training and ensuring student success. We are passionate about equipping the next generation of aircraft technicians with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the aviation industry.
This opportunity is designed for experienced A&P mechanics and aviation technicians ready to step out of the hangar and into a role where they can shape the future of aviation. As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor, you will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).
This role is ideal for professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship while delivering instruction in both classroom and active hangar environments. You will share your real-world experience, enjoy more predictable schedules compared to field work, and make a lasting impact on students entering the industry. No prior teaching experience is required; AIM provides a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you successfully transition into the classroom.
To join our team, please submit your application directly through our career portal. We are currently offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for new hires through July 1st and a $2,500 relocation bonus for out-of-area hires moving to Charlotte. The campus is located at 7421 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28227.
