Miami Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is central to our mission of helping students achieve their full potential through intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. The position offers a unique opportunity to guide students in a dynamic learning environment that blends academic rigor with practical agricultural skills.
As the Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor, you will serve as a mentor and instructor, fostering a classroom culture that is conducive to learning and tailored to the maturity and interests of our students. You will work closely with the administration to design a program of study that meets individual student needs while adhering to district curriculum goals. Beyond the classroom, you will play a pivotal role in the FFA organization, guiding students in leadership development and community engagement.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who maintains open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues. You will be expected to participate in faculty meetings, cooperate with staff on instructional planning, and actively pursue your own professional growth through workshops, seminars, and advanced coursework. Your ability to establish cooperative relations with co-workers and maintain reasonable emotional stability will be essential in creating a supportive school community.
Employment is considered annually in accordance with Oklahoma law, with salary and work year determined by the current salary schedule. Candidates must possess a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate, a bachelor's degree with a major in education, and relevant teaching experience. The position requires a criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Additionally, candidates cannot be related to any currently seated board of education member within the second degree of affinity or consanguinity.
