The Childcare/Aftercare Assistant Teacher is a vital part of the educational team at the Cardinals Nest. Teaching is a collaborative effort, and in this role, you will work alongside the lead teacher to implement daily activities that observe, supervise, and educate children. Your focus will be on optimizing the learning and play environment while strictly adhering to child care health and safety standards.
Your day involves engaging with children, assisting with age-appropriate curriculum development, and supporting the implementation of lesson plans and daily schedules. You will also play a key role in observing and assessing children's behavior and progress. Beyond the classroom, you will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain professional records, and contribute to a positive school environment that aligns with district values and priorities.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma, GED, or Commonwealth Child Care Credential (CCCC). First Aid/CPR certification is preferred. Selected candidates will complete a 1.5-hour Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Training in their first year, 6 hours of Orientation within the first 90 days, and a professional development plan with the director annually.
CCPS considers qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, religion, age, disability status, sexual orientation, or veteran status. We strive to build a community where every individual feels they belong.
