We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Advocate to join our team at our homeless shelter in Huntington. This full-time position is essential to the safe and continuous operation of our program, ensuring uninterrupted care and support for our clients during the night hours.
In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our clients and their path to self-sufficiency. Your day-to-day involves conducting client assessments, providing ongoing counseling, and facilitating resource referrals. You will manage intakes, oversee bedtime routines, distribute linens and toiletries, and ensure the safety of the facility through regular perimeter and bathroom checks. Beyond direct client care, you will handle conflict resolution, document all incidents with accuracy, and assist with meal service and client transportation as needed.
This position requires excellent judgment and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations. As an essential employee, you are expected to report to work during inclement weather and emergency situations to maintain the integrity of our services.
This is a full-time overnight role, scheduled Wednesday through Friday from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
