The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO), is dedicated to strengthening staff benefits and financial well-being across the region. As part of the Financial Resources Management (FRM) organization, the team operates under the general supervision of the Director and the direct supervision of the Treasurer, ensuring compliance with PAHO, WHO, and UN system rules and regulations.
The Advisor, Staff Benefits serves as a strategic leader and expert guide in the administration of staff benefits, payroll, pensions, taxation, and health insurance systems. This role is pivotal in analyzing and interpreting changes in international civil service regulations and U.S. tax laws, providing clear advice to both staff and management on their implications. The position involves overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of benefit operations, evaluating and enhancing ERP solutions, and managing relationships with third-party administrators and health insurance providers. The advisor will also lead a collaborative team, fostering a high-performing work environment while ensuring the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of benefit funds.
