The District Manager, Payroll serves as a key leader within the Administrative Services division, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor. This full-time, 12-month classified management position is designed to plan, develop, and organize the operations of District payroll and records administration services. The role exists to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions in strict accordance with applicable laws, guidelines, and reporting mandates.
In this position, you will manage the integrity of payroll processing systems, overseeing everything from pay calculations and retirement reporting to the maintenance of confidential employee records. You will provide essential training and consultation to staff on payroll-related areas and interact with ITSS to develop and enhance departmental computing systems. The role requires a strategic approach to managing plans and policies that reflect the District's mission, including auditing payroll information, resolving complex discrepancies, and overseeing year-end closing processes and annual audits.
