About Northwestern Medicine

Northwestern Medicine is powered by a community of colleagues who are purpose-driven and committed to our mission to deliver world-class care. Here, you will work alongside some of the best clinical talent in the nation, leading the way in medical innovation and breakthrough research with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. From discovery to delivery, we invite you to help shape the future of medicine.

We recognize where you've been and support where you're headed. We celebrate diverse perspectives and experiences, which fuel our commitment to equity and a culture of service. Grow your career with comprehensive training, mentorship, and educational support, or create the life you envision with flexible work options and a Total Rewards package designed to support your physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

About the Role

The Medical Education Administrative Manager serves as a strategic leader for the Department of Surgery, reflecting the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine. This role is dedicated to driving innovation and optimizing operations for surgical medical education, ensuring the delivery of exceptional educational experiences for students, residents, and staff.

You will act as the vital bridge between medical education, pedagogy, and technology across online, clinical, and simulation environments. Reporting to the NMHC Director of Academic Affairs, you will translate the GME, Hospital, and Departmental missions into effective action. As a key liaison, you will advocate for residents and coordinate activities between the integrated hospitals of McGaw Medical Center, NMHC's Academic Affairs team, and Northwestern University's Graduate Medical Education Office.

Your day-to-day involves partnering with faculty and trainees to create distinctive educational experiences, overseeing faculty development programs, and managing the integrity of residency program operations. You will ensure compliance with ACGME and McGaw guidelines, prepare for residency review committee evaluations, and manage the systems that track resident performance and faculty evaluations. This is a role for someone who wants to make a difference through volunteer opportunities and drive inclusive change through workforce-led resource groups.

Hiring Process & Application

Northwestern Medicine conducts a background check that includes criminal history on newly hired team members and, at times, internal transfers. If offered a position, you will be required to complete an authorization and disclosure form. Results are evaluated on a case-by-case basis in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, including the Illinois Health Care Worker Background Check Act.

Please note that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used in some portions of the candidate review process for this position; however, all employment decisions will be made by a person.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

Northwestern Medicine is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.
