As a Speech-Language Pathologist at Sharp HealthCare, you will evaluate plans, direct, and administer therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by licensed physicians. Your primary mission is to assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning while helping them learn to live within the limits of their capabilities. You will play an active role in the operational aspects of the department, contributing to performance improvement activities and the advancement of rehabilitation initiatives.
Your work involves designing and implementing appropriate treatment plans that are cost-effective and tailored to the patient's diagnosis, age, and culture. You will assess patient pain that interferes with optimal function and provide necessary interventions. A significant portion of your day is dedicated to documentation, ensuring all patient management elements are entered in a timely, complete, and accurate manner that meets Sharp HealthCare guidelines and regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate closely with Rehab leadership on clinical and operational projects, participate in departmental activities such as CQI and staff meetings, and serve as a departmental representative on committees. Whether participating in interdisciplinary rounds, providing unit-specific information to students and travelers, or adjusting to unscheduled situations, you will work to maintain constructive relationships and ensure efficient departmental functioning.
