About the Role
This Inpatient Registered Nurse position is dedicated to delivering high-quality, direct patient care within the hospital setting, specifically covering Charlton Hospital. The role serves as a vital bridge between Fresenius Medical Care and the hospital, ensuring seamless integration of renal replacement therapies into the patient's acute care journey.
You will partner with hospital staff, physicians, and the broader healthcare team to provide a positive patient experience across diverse modalities, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT), apheresis, and ultrafiltration. As a subject matter expert, you will guide ICU staff and Patient Care Technicians, ensuring safety and efficacy in complex clinical environments.
Day in the Life
Your day involves managing a broad range of tasks under limited supervision, from assessing patient responses to treatment and adjusting care plans to coordinating with physicians for continuity of care. You will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of dialysis equipment, performing necessary safety tests, and documenting all treatment information accurately in both hospital and internal records.
A key aspect of this role is the dynamic nature of inpatient care. You will utilize high-level thinking skills to prioritize patient schedules, adapting to critical needs driven by lab results, physician orders, or patient assessments. The position requires an on-call rotation, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage for patients requiring renal support.
Hiring Process & Application
Candidates must possess a current state nursing license and meet specific experience requirements, including one year of RN experience and a minimum of six months of nephrology experience to work independently in dialysis and apheresis services. Successful candidates will also complete required training courses in the care of ESRD patients and maintain certifications in BLS and ACLS.
