Purpose and Scope
The Inpatient Services Charge Nurse role is an additional responsibility assigned to the Inpatient Services Registered Nurse for a limited period. This position focuses on ensuring the appropriate provision of Acute Dialysis Services and treatments within assigned hospitals and facilities. The role involves coordinating, scheduling, and directing Acute Patient Care staff while performing acute treatments as needed or directed by the Program Manager.
The Charge Nurse is responsible for assuming the provision of quality patient care to all hospitalized patients in the most efficient manner, adhering to company policies as well as regulations set forth by company, state, and federal agencies.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleCoordinate and schedule direct patient care staff to provide coverage of Acute Dialysis treatments
- check_circleMaintain and review the daily TAP tool for all hospitals and submit results to the Program Manager
- check_circleEnsure all Acute treatments are performed according to established policies and regulatory requirements
- check_circleMonitor daily ACES compliance and ensure accurate documentation of patient treatment information
- check_circlePerform Quality Assessment and Improvement Program audits to ensure compliance with Joint Commission requirements
- check_circleAssess daily patient care needs and communicate concerns to attending physicians
- check_circleCoordinate with technical staff to ensure preventative maintenance and infection control measures
- check_circleServe as liaison between administrative staff of each hospital and the Program Manager
- check_circlePractice cost containment strategies in medical supply inventory and personnel areas
- check_circlePerform Acute treatments and oversee all dialysis-related medical and emergency functions
Requirements
- verifiedCurrent appropriate state licensure
- verifiedCurrent or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- verifiedMinimum of 9 months nursing experience
- verified3 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients in an Acute or Chronic setting required
- verified6 months dialysis experience in an Acute setting preferred

Fresenius Medical Care is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: Current appropriate state licensure; Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification; Minimum of 9 months nursing experience; 3 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients in an Acute or Chronic setting required; and 6 months dialysis experience in an Acute setting preferred.
