The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, reimbursements, and vendor records. This position is dedicated to transactional efficiency and data integrity, serving as a key support function for the broader accounting team.
In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, directly influencing payment timeliness, vendor satisfaction, and the accuracy of financial records. While operating within established procedures and guidelines, your work ensures that vendor relationships are maintained through responsive support and that internal financial data remains reliable.
You will interact regularly with internal team members, external vendors, and accounting staff. Your communication will be primarily transactional and support-focused, aimed at resolving payment inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth operational workflows.
This position follows established procedures for invoice processing, coding verification, and vendor setup. You will exercise judgment in identifying discrepancies and will escalate approval issues or complex vendor concerns to the Accounts Payable Supervisor or senior staff as needed.
The role is based in an office environment with sedentary duties and occasional lifting of light materials. Travel requirements are minimal, estimated at up to 15%.

Associate degree in Accounting or related field. Accredited Payables Specialist (APS) certification. Experience with automated AP systems or ERP platforms. Experience with accounting systems and Concur.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
